Privacy Policy
Overview
Amazing World Music ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it and how you can manage tracking and your data rights. We operate in the UK and follow the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR. We also follow internal data-use and analytics principles (DUAA) for responsible measurement and reporting.
Analytics and Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage statistics to improve the site. Google may set
cookies such as _ga and related identifiers. By default the site is configured to
opt-in to analytics. You can opt out at any time by toggling the Tracking
button in the bottom-right corner of the site. When you opt out the Google Analytics script will not
be loaded and analytics cookies will not be set by our site.
We anonymise IP addresses when sending data to Google (anonymize_ip). The Google Analytics
measurement ID (GA4) is stored in our settings as ga_measurement_id and can be
configured by the site administrator.
What Data We Store
- Account information: Name, email, username and password hash (we store passwords using PHP's secure hashing).
- Contact & support messages: Messages you send via contact forms or support tickets are stored so we can respond.
- Download & usage logs: When you download tracks we log the track id, user id (if logged in) and timestamp to maintain licensing records.
- Files & uploaded content: Tracks you upload (as an artist) and associated metadata are stored on our servers.
- Server logs & diagnostics: Standard server logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp) are kept for security and operational purposes.
- Cookies & preferences: Session cookies, the analytics consent cookie (
awm_ga_consent) and any site preferences you set.
Why We Process Data
We process data to provide the service, fulfil contractual obligations (for example delivering purchased files), to improve and secure the site (legitimate interest), and where you have given consent (analytics). We aim to keep processing to the minimum necessary.
Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose collected, to comply with legal obligations, or to resolve disputes. If you delete your account we will remove or anonymise personal data where possible, subject to legal or contractual obligations (for example retained download records for licensing may be kept for a limited period).
Your Rights
You have the right to access, rectify, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights please contact us via the contact form or by email at admin@amazingworldmusic.com.
How to Opt Out
Use the Tracking toggle at the bottom-right of every page to disable analytics. You can also block or remove cookies via your browser settings. Disabling analytics will not affect your ability to use the site but will reduce the anonymised usage data we collect.
Contact & Complaints
If you have questions about this policy or wish to complain about our data handling, contact us at admin@amazingworldmusic.com. You can also contact the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you remain unsatisfied.
